HOW WE WORK

At Orpheus Theatre Arts, our sessions are thoughtfully structured to support confidence, skill development and enjoyment. We balance professional training with a nurturing environment, ensuring students feel supported while being challenged in the right way.

Our sessions run during term time on Saturdays between 10am-1pm, with groups splitting their time between our two main areas of training:

Musical Theatre

  • Focusing on singing, acting through song and movement and dance

  • Exploring a range of techniques and both solo and ensemble work

Performance Craft

  • Developing acting techniques whilst working with scripts, improvisation and screen work

  • Learning stage awareness with care and intention

Age Groups

At Orpheus Theatre Arts, our classes are generally structured around school year groups to ensure students are training within an environment suited to both their age and stage of development.

Our Junior Company is typically for students in Years 3–6, with our Senior Company designed for students in Years 7–11.

However, transitions between groups are considered individually and are not based on age alone. We take into account each student’s confidence, training readiness and ability to thrive within the pace and expectations of the Senior environment.

For this reason, some students may transition into Senior classes gradually throughout the school year, ensuring that every student is placed in the setting most beneficial to their long-term development and enjoyment.

Our priority is always creating a positive, supportive and appropriately challenging training environment for every student.
